Backpack and School Supplies Program

This year we are again partnering with CIBC Wood Gundy employees to do a backpack and school supply drive. In past years we have been able to donate approximately 80 backpacks full of school supplies to children through our partnering agencies. This year we were awarded 2 grants. One from the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada which matches the funds that we donate to the program. The other from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund through Kiwanis International. Through collaberation with the Calgary Police Foundation we were able to make contact with Bags in Bulk. All of these events have lead us to already purchase over 200 backpacks full of school supplies with more to come once we pick up the CIBC Wood Gundy supplies. We greatfully thank all of our partners and donors to this project!

If you are interested in volunteering for this project we will have several opportunities available. Friday, August 7 we will be picking up supplies from CIBC Wood Gundy. Friday, August 14 we will be sorting school supplies and stuffing backpacks. Thursday, August 27 will be our Backpack Giveaway event. Delicious Apples Are Coming

This year we are again selling delicious, farm fresh apples from Davison Orchards. They come in 15lb boxes. The Gala Apples are $35 a box, the Okanagan Blend are $40 a box, and the Honeycrisp Apples are $45 a box. The money raised is being used for our Youth Recognition Programs. The deadline for orders is September 7th and the apples will be delivered to you on or around September 18th.
